Morphing Landscapes is an artistic research project created as the final work of the master’s study at The Sound of Innovation, ArtEZ Conservatorium. The project investigates the interconnectedness between individuals in nature, and the precariousness that emerges from natural disasters - earthquakes in this case.

The outcome presented an improvisational performance involving sound, dance, and visu- al artists, complemented by an installation that translates seismic activity data. Whenever seismic activity data incomes(happens), it disturbs the sound and visuals, prompting per- formers to change their behavioural patterns to cope with the new circumstances. At the same time, the data triggers a real-time AV recording and playback, creating new layers in each session which the performers must adapt to, represents how geological strata and land were shifted by the seismic activities. In addition, the data provides parameters for the granular playback and positioning for the four-channel sound system.

This project questions our relationship with the past and ongoing happenings within these assemblage systems on our planet.
